Mailbag:

I have lived in Mesa Del Mar since 1981, and not once have I ever seen a complaint in this paper about the horrible sound of dirt bike racing at the fairgrounds on Saturday nights from April to October.

Is it only I who thinks this sound is obnoxious? Doesn’t anyone else ever get upset about this sound, especially in the summer when your doors are open? Or the sound of the loud-mouthed public address announcer?

Many residents moaned about the Pacific Amphitheater when it opened because of the loud music, etc. And they got it shut down.

If they didn’t like loud music how can they possibly put up with the sound of dirt bikes? And also, can anyone name any other big city that has its fairgrounds right in the middle of hundreds of houses. The fairgrounds shouldn’t be there in the first place.

Isn’t it time to do something about it? How about signing a petition and taking it to the Orange County Fair and Event Center Board of Directors and our City Council?
