U.S. Rep. John Campbell plans to unveil a plan to ease fuel pump pains for commuters at a news conference today in Newport Beach.
The legislation would give a tax break to commuters on their federal taxes in an effort to curb the toll gas prices are taking on workers who have to drive longer distances to earn their pay check.
The average price of gas in California on Monday was $4.57, according to the American Automobile Assn.
Campbell will detail his new plan at 11 a.m. at a gas station at MacArthur Boulevard and Bison Avenue in Newport Beach.
