Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is expected to make a much-needed fundraising pit stop in Newport Beach today.
Clinton is expected to make an appearance at a rally for about 200 donors in the main ballroom of the Balboa Bay Club & Resort between 4 and 7 p.m. Donors will pay $150 to $2,300 a head to attend the private rally, according to Clinton’s fundraising website. It will be a short stay for Clinton in Newport. She’s scheduled to appear later this evening at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, according to her website.
The Clinton campaign, with debts estimated at more than $20 million, could use a shot in the arm from Orange County donors. The candidate has raised about $1 million in Orange County this election cycle, according to the most recent data available from the Center for Responsive Politics.
