CdM product Harkins earns water polo honor

Santa Clara University freshman Taylor Harkins, a Corona del Mar High product, was recently named to the Western Water Polo Assn. All-Freshman team.

Harkins played in all 32 games for the Broncos, scoring 17 goals, tops among freshmen on the team. She also recorded nine steals.

Santa Clara finished 19-13 and in fourth place at the WWPA championships, falling to UC San Diego, 8-7, on April 27.

At Corona del Mar, Harkins was a four-year varsity player and part of three CIF Southern Section Division II championship teams, from 2004 to 2006.
