COSTA MESA — Ryan Sheeks’ sacrifice fly to center in the bottom of the ninth inning brought in the game-winning run Tuesday, helping the Pirates win their sixth straight nonconference game.

Kyle Muhlsteff led off the ninth with a single. He advanced to second base on a passed ball and third on Brett Wallach’s sacrifice bunt. Palomar (5-9) tried to intentionally walk Sheeks before the pitcher, with a 2-2 count, left one over the strike zone for Sheeks to hit.

Wes Kartch went two for three and scored twice for OCC (12-2-1), which is 7-0-1 at home this season.
