Artscenter’s 2007 gifts now reach $25.7 million

The Orange County Performing Artscenter recently received $7 million in gifts toward its Building on the Vision campaign.

The announcement was made by Capital Campaign Vice Chairman Roger Kirwan at the center’s Candlelight Concert on Dec. 7.

In August, Lawrence and Kristina Dodge gifted $10 million to the campaign, challenging supporters to raise an additional $20 million by August 2009.

Richard C. and Virgina A. Hunsaker gifted $5 million, earning them a place in the center’s Circle of Honor and increasing the total of their contributions to $6 million.

The campaign also received an anonymous donation of $2 million, bringing the total donations received in 2007 to $25.7 million.

“The gift from Lawrence and Kristina Dodge has inspired and motivated many community leaders, continuing the momentum of the campaign,” Kirwan said in a written statement.

“We are deeply indebted to Richard and Ginny Hunsaker for stepping forward in response to the Dodge Challenge.”
