Stock up on snowboard gear before snow fall

An action-packed snowboard sale starts Saturday at 8 a.m. at Surfside Sports’ annual snowboard carnival.

The Costa Mesa store’s parking lot will turn into a festival of booths and tents where snowboard vendors provide giveaways and raffles. Pro snowboarders will sign autographs, and hungry guests can enjoy free food.

The carnival concludes at 3 p.m. with announcements of raffle winners, who must be present to claim their prize. Bakery opens first holiday store

The fairy tale-inspired Wonderland Bakery at the Bluffs Shopping Center in Newport Beach has opened its first holiday store, Wonderland Bakery Adventure, at South Coast Plaza. Owned by a mother and daughter team, Sondra and chef Allyson Ames, the second location also marks Allyson’s 22nd birthday and the launch of the Wonderland Adventure Collection of whimsical merchandise. The star of the collection is a talking and animated Allyson Wonderland Bear by Gund.
