Greer's Best Buys:

Organic encourages healthy tastes in babies

October 26, 2007|By GREER WYLDER

Baby food just doesn’t get any better than at the new Pomme Bebe in Newport Beach. It’s Orange County’s first purveyor of freshly made, organic baby food. The store opens Tuesday with a grand opening Halloween party with arts and crafts, fun prizes, and organic treats served all day. Owner Svetla Kibota offers a nutritious alternative to store-bought jar foods — fresh, organic meals for babies and toddlers.

Kibota wants babies to love and develop a taste for nutritious fresh foods from their first bite. And what better way than by tasting recipes developed by award-winning chef Laurent Brazier who creates puréed single-ingredient foods, blends and slightly more complex tastes for growing toddlers. Pomme Bebe peels, steams and purees meals each day in its kitchen, and even offers samples at its contemporary tasting bar. Purchase meals in the store, or online for overnight delivery. Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2043 Westcliff Drive, Newport Beach; (949) 200-7430, www.pommebebe.com.
