COSTA MESA — Sophomore Kyle Schneekluth scored in the 88th minute to break a 1-1 tie and propel the host Pirates in this Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday.

Schneekluth, a Corona del Mar High product, buried a shot from about 10 yards out into the upper-right corner as OCC improved to 6-4-3, 2-2-1 in conference. Jordan Joseph converted an assist from Adam Hare into OCC’s first goal.

Concordia 1, Vanguard 0

IRVINE — The Lions allowed a goal in the 10th minute Tuesday against the No. 1-ranked Eagles, a Golden State Athletic Conference rival.

Trevor Herrera made five saves for Vanguard (7-5, 2-4 in conference), but the goalkeeper couldn’t stop Josh Bickel from heading in a loose ball in the box for Concordia (12-0, 6-0).

Orange Coast 5, Riverside 0

RIVERSIDE — The visiting Pirates scored three times in the opening 15 minutes to cruise in the Orange Empire Conference clash Tuesday.

Loren Kortizija, Beth Krikorian, Cassie Knox, Teresa Warner and Shannon Arnold scored for the Pirates (2-7-2, 2-4-2 in conference). Warner, Stephanie Brown and Tisha Martin were credited with assists.

FAIRFAX — UC Irvine finished third in the event that concluded Tuesday at The Meadow Club.

UCI senior Kenny Kim, who shot seven-under-par 64 in the opening round, finished 12th at eight-under 207. Tim Cha, John Chin and Sean Shahi tied for 20th place at three-under 210.
