Shrek, Barney, Strawberry Shortcake attend Kidsfaire

It will be a 15-acre kids wonderland today and tomorrow at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the weekend Kidsfaire will feature nonstop family entertainment, interactive exhibits and stage shows.

The ubiquitous purple dinosaur Barney will lead a sing-a-long; Strawberry Shortcake and friends will have a stage show; and somewhere roaming the fair will be the green ogre himself, Shrek.

Watch out for the heat and look to the skies both days at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. as the Clowntown BigTop show entertains with fire eaters, tightrope shows and slapstick comedy.

Kidsfaire supports children’s literacy programs through the Head Start Assn. and charities through the Ronald McDonald House Charities. They also support the Children’s Crisis Center, offering support and counseling to children dealing with the loss of a parent or sibling.
