Blogging future tackled at UC Irvine symposium

The drivers behind the popular blog “Grand Text Auto” will navigate toward the Beall Center for Art and Technology today at UC Irvine for a symposium on the future of blogging.

The six artists and scholars behind the blog and at the cutting edge of computer games and digital literature will be on hand for the Grand Text Auto symposium from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday.

The first half of the symposium will include a presentation of the blog’s work and the future of the field. The second half brings the audience in with discussions about what blogging has to offer artists and academics, approaches to crafting experimental games and other forms of playable media and the role of language in digital media.
