SHORT TAKES:Homebuilding company promotes two executives

John Laing Homes, a Newport Beach-based homebuilding company, has promoted two executives in its Southern California region.

The company, which oversees homebuilding in California, Arizona, Colorado and Texas, announced this month that Steve Kabel, a member of Laing's strategic planning group since 1999, will assume the role of Southern California region president.

Meanwhile, Dave Prolo, who has worked for the company for 14 years and recently oversaw its San Diego division, will become president of the South Coast division and oversee Orange and San Diego counties.

"Steve and Dave are proven leaders within our organization, and have consistently demonstrated the values and culture that define John Laing Homes — our unwavering commitment to our homebuyers and our team members," Larry Webb, the chief executive officer of Laing Homes, wrote in a release. "Providing our team members with new opportunities is one of the best parts of my job, and I can't wait to see Steve and Dave's ongoing contributions to the success of John Laing Homes."
