Kindergartners will have new swing set this fall

The incoming kindergarten class at Woodland Elementary School will have a brand new swing set after the school reached its goal of $15,000.

A Swing-A-Thon at the Costa Mesa school in May raised more than $7,000, and other fundraisers and an ongoing donation drive brought in the remaining funds.

Charles Rollins, the Woodland parent who organized the event, was happy the kindergarten playground would finally have a swing set after about three years without one.

"We consider this a gift from the current and past Woodland community to present and future students," he said.
