The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce will honor the best scholars in the city at the chamber's Les Miller Student Awards breakfast today.
The winners, their activities and honors are listed below.
COSTA MESA HIGH SCHOOL
MITCH FRIEDMAN
ACTIVITIES: Key club; National Honor Society; academic decathlon; editor of the school paper; varsity cross country and track captain; ASB activities commissioner; basketball coach for Costa Mesa parks and recreation; youth group at Harbor Christian Fellowship.
HONORS: Kiwanis athlete of the month.
EMIL ANDREW SINAJON
ACTIVITIES: National Honor Society; Key club; academic decathlon; copy editor for the Hitching Post; tennis; teacher's assistant in summer science program at Paularino Elementary School; 2006 Child Abuse Walkathon; 2006 John Wooden charity silent auction.
HONORS: CSF, honor roll, department medalist in Spanish 3, U.S. history and English.
LINH HOANG
ACTIVITIES: Asian club; academic decathlon; math, engineering, science achievement vice president; vice president of fundraising for Environmental Marine Science Academy; Make-a-Wish treasurer; National Honor Society secretary; journalism opinion editor; 2006 Girls State Conference delegate; varsity tennis; candy striper; Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Week; Challenge Day; math tutor.
