Police seek Rite-Aid robber
Costa Mesa police are looking for a man who robbed a Harbor Boulevard Rite-Aid on Saturday and stole the drug Oxycontin.
The robber told employees at the store, 3029 Harbor Blvd., at about 11:45 a.m. that he had a weapon before demanding "a substantial quantity" of Oxycontin, Costa Mesa Police Lt. Clay Epperson said. Police said the man is a clean-shaven white man with a thin build, about 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black cap, black-hooded sweatshirt, green shirt and dark pants.
Oxycontin, a painkiller, has been the object of recent burglaries, but this is the first such robbery in some time that Epperson said he was aware of.
Anyone with information on the crime should call the Costa Mesa detective bureau at (714) 754-5205.
