LOS ANGELES — Cal's Jeff Tyrell scored a goal at the fourth-quarter buzzer, lifting the Bears to a 7-6 win over USC and the 2006 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship at Loyola Marymount on Sunday.
Cal senior John Mann, a Corona del Mar High product, scored a goal in the third quarter, giving the Golden Bears their first lead of the game at 5-4. He also earned a five-meter penalty shot for teammate Brian Bacharach in the second quarter.
Mann was named to the all-tournament team.
