CINEMA ORANGE

The Orange County Museum of Art will offer a free outdoor series of independent features, documentaries an animated films from the recent 2006 Newport Beach Film Festival. Films begin at 8:30 p.m. Q & A sessions will follow some films. June 22, "American Blend"; July 13, "Seet Land"; July 27, "Intellectual Property"; August 10, "One Last Dance," and August 24, "Animated Showcase," featuring collection of short animated films including both hand-drawn and computer-generated works. FAMILY MOVIE NITES

Balboa Performing Arts Theater will partner with Quiksilver this summer to present the Family Movie Nite Series showing films from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the beach next to Balboa Pier, which will be transformed into a large outdoor movie theater June 29 "Letting Go" featuring Kelly Slater; July 20 "Riding Giants", and August ? "First Chapter." As part of the series, an opportunity drawing will be held for prizes such as round trip tickets to Hawaii and Quiksilver sports gear. Admission is free. (949) 673-0895.

SHEAR MADNESS ONSTAGE

Audiences for this show get a chance to solve a murder mystery during the improvisational, interactive play. Audience participation is a must in this laughable who-done-it, set in a local hair salon.
