Stephen Schneider gave the Orange Coast College baseball team a

second consecutive game-winning solo home run to edge visiting Irvine

Valley, 12-11, Thursday in Orange Empire Conference play.

Luke Beck stole third in the ninth inning and came home on the

errant throw to third, tying it at 11, and setting the stage for

Schneider. With a 3-and-0 count, he sent reliever Grant Harrell's

pitch over the right-field fence for the victory. Beck also provided

the game-winning homer against Saddleback Tuesday.

Beck finished 4 for 5 at the plate for the Pirates (19-13-1,

10-5-1 in the OEC) Thursday, a career-best outing with three doubles,

three runs scored and two RBIs. Matt Meadows was 2 for 4 with a

two-run home run and four RBIs in his first start in nearly two

months after sitting out with a fractured leg.
