The U.S. men's water polo team, which includes former UC Irvine
standouts Ryan Bailey, Omar Amr, Dan Klatt, Genai Kerr and Jeff
Powers, will be returning close to home to compete in a pair of
matches against Australia Wednesday and Thursday at the Charter All
Digital Aquatic Centre in Long Beach.
With 44 of the last 50 days spent overseas, the sixth-ranked U.S.
squad will compete in the FINA World League on its home turf. The
U.S. men's water polo team has not played an international game at
home this year.
The Americans will play at 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 p.m. Thursday,
as part of the Men's FINA World League, which also has games that
will be at Corona del Mar High.
Team USA will play at Corona del Mar July 5 at 3 p.m. against
Hungary. Australia vs. Serbia and Montenegro will take place at 1:30
p.m.
The FINA Men's World League Super Final will be July 14-18 at the
newly built aquatic center in Long Beach.
