Law school reports applications up 36%

Whittier Law School is reporting a 36% increase in applications

for enrollment, a figure that translates into almost 700 more

applications this year than last.

The 36% increase is greater even than the national trend, which

shows an increase in applications to law schools at 10% to 20%.

Whittier, which began its history as Beverly Law School in 1966

and became a part of Whittier College in 1975, is one of two American

Bar Assn.-accredited law schools in Orange County.

The law school is at 3333 Harbor Blvd., Costa Mesa.
