Artie Dorr, who scored 17 goals in the tournament, put seven balls in
back of the cage against Palm Desert. He scored four of the eight goals
in the second period, while Jason DiRocco added two of his four goals in
the quarter.
Dorr shot 7 for 10 in the game, and also collected two steals and one
assist. David DiRocco scored three goals, John Money and Tom Harper
contributed two goals each, and Nadim Hakim posted one.
Goalies Beau Stockstill and Tyler Brundage recorded five and three
saves, respectively, and held Palm Desert scoreless in the second and
third quarters.
CdM closed out tournament play with the 10-7 win over SoCal. This
time, Dorr led the CdM squad with six goals, while Jason DiRocco added
two goals, and David DiRocco and Ryan Moore notched one each. Stockstill
and Brundage turned away four shots each.
In the first-round win over Irvine, the CdM 18-and-under team came
back from a 5-4 deficit after three quarters and won, 8-6.
Dorr, who scored four goals, sealed the victory with a four-meter goal
with 21 seconds remaining.
CdM, coached by Tim Salvino, will compete in the Junior Olympics, July
26-31 in Moraga. The CdM club team also includes, Ali Kattan, Scott
Street and Kevin Amendt.
