Boys tennis: CdM overpowers Mesa, 17-1

CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar High senior Tyson Hunter dropped

just three games in winning his three sets to headline an easy Sea King

victory, 17-1, over Pacific Coast League visitor Costa Mesa Tuesday.

Hunter swept to win two sets and then battled a gritty Spencer Solomon

to pull out a 6-3 win. Solomon defeated Erik Frisbie to earn the

Mustangs' lone win. Corona's doubles teams did not lose a set.

The Sea Kings (15-1, 3-1 in the PCL) return to league action, Thursday


at 3:15 p.m., playing at Northwood.


Corona del Mar 17, Costa Mesa 1 Singles - Hunter (CdM) def. Nguyen, 6-0, def. Solomon, 6-3, def.

Halverson, 6-0; Miller (CdM) won, 6-0, 6-2, 6-4; Frisbie (CdM) won, 6-1,

2-6, 6-1.

Doubles - Warsaw-Saida (CdM) def. Shu-Sneen, 6-0, def. B.

Nguyen/Thai-Vo, 6-0, def. Matthews-A. Nguyen, 6-0; Hinger-Nguyen (CdM)

won, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0; Gushue-Ahearn (CdM) won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1.
