Girls tennis: CdM remains undefeated

CORONA DEL MAR - The Corona del Mar High girls tennis team eased

past visiting Laguna Beach, 12-6, in Pacific Coast League action


CdM junior Anne Yelsey and sophomore Brittany Holland swept in singles

play as Holland never lost a game and Yelsey dropped just one. The senior

duo of Brittany Minna and Leslie Damion swept their matches in doubles

play to help the Sea Kings remain undefeated, 8-0, 3-0 in the PCL. The


Artists dropped to 5-5, 1-2.

CdM, ranked No. 1 in Southern California, has earned the No. 1 seed in

the second annual Girls National Team Invitational and will face Edison

today at 10:30 a.m. at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.

Singles - Yelsey (CdM) def. Harris, 6-0; def. Johnson, 6-0, def.

Miller, 6-1; Holland (CdM) won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; Mutzke (CdM) lost, 4-6,

won, 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles - Steele-Bryan (CdM) lost to Butterwick and Barron-Sandman,

7-5, lost to Schulman-Ward, 4-6, def. Murray-Reed, 6-2; Claster-Tenerelli

(CdM) lost, 2-6, 0-6, 4-6; Minna-Damion (CdM) won, 6-3, 6-4, 6-0.
