combined for eight strikeouts for the Diamondbacks, while Trevor
MacDonald and Taylor McClanahan helped keep the Marlins' rallies to a
minimum.
On offense, Maurer and Andrew Ayala each provided key RBI hits, while
Allan Kincaide came through with a clutch double for the Diamondbacks.
Dodgers 4, Diamondbacks 0 - Mike McDaniels pitched a complete-game
shutout with nine strikeouts to lead the Dodgers.
Justin Long, Brian Sankey and Matt Jeranko each had RBI hits, while
Cory Weikel added two hits for the Dodgers.
Marlins 10, Tigers 2 - Vinnie Valdez pitched five no-hit innings with
six strikeouts before P.J. Errington threw the final inning to lead the
Marlins.
Errington had two hits and five RBIs, while Valdez and Bryce Stillman
each had two hits and an RBI for the Fighting Fish. Adam Seagondollar,
Chad Belmont and Anthony Seacrest each added singles and scored runs.
Diamondbacks 3, Tigers 0 - The Diamondbacks clinched first place in
the second half with the victory over the Tigers.
Pitchers Taylor McClanahan and Allan Kincaide combined for six
strikeouts, while on defense, Ryan Redding and Trevor McDonald combined
to turn two double plays.
Offensively, Matthew Redding had a two-run single to score Austin
Elliott and Andrew Ayala and McClanahan provided an RBI hit as well.
Dodgers 3, Astros 2 - Trailing, 2-0, the Dodgers rallied in the fifth
and sixth innings for the victory over the Astros.
Brandon Grimmett singled and scored on a double by Bryan Bennett to
cut the deficit to 2-1 in the fifth.
In the sixth, Matt Jeranko reached advanced to second on an error and
scored on a single by Mike McDaniels, who eventually scored the
game-winning run on a double by Parker Roth.
In Minor B action:
Marlins 17, Astros 15 - Joshua Ryding ripped his first home run of the
season and had two RBIs to pace the Marlins' attack.
Other offensive contributors for the Marlins included Jacob Wachman,
Daniel Carter, Johnny Valdez, Bryan Guzman, Joshua Erno, James Wanbaugh,
Julian Velasquez, Javier Rivera, Pedro Rivera and Pablo Galvan.
Rockies 15, Diamondbacks 10 - The Rockies jumped out to an early 6-0
lead, lost the lead and rallied late to win.
Mitchell Pfautz, Sean Anderson, Nick Federiconi, Blake Youngquist,
Brian Bray, Spencer Roberts and Michael Delaney each had key at-bats to
give the Rockies the early advantage.
After falling behind, 10-8, the Rockies ripped off seven straight runs
to take the lead for good.
