Softball: Mesa edged by Northwood

IRVINE - Costa Mesa High's softball team took an early lead, but

could not hold of host Northwood, losing, 3-2, in Pacific Coast League

action Tuesday.

Kaite Chapman had an RBI single, while speedy Kelly Daub, who reached

first with a bunt single, scored when the ball was thrown into right

field.

The Mustangs (5-8, 2-1 in league) will travel to Laguna Beach to take on

the Artists Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
